MPH Bait Lab — parody ad builder and batch generator

memphy.co is built as a 2010-era webcam site, and a webcam site is incomplete without its ad slots: banner, skyscraper, half-page, mobile strip, each selling something that cannot be real. The ads had to be wrong in the correct way: wrong font, wrong fit, wrong claim, right format. Drawn one at a time they would have been illustrations of bait. Bait Lab produces bait. It builds twelve at once and the choice happens by elimination. One scenario carries true information: the merch ad sells the actual drop, and that engine runs live on the site. The spin-to-win scenario was cut on purpose. No fake-winner register.

Assets stay in the browser in IndexedDB; nothing uploads. 44 cut-out icons ship with it. A build resolves one of eight scenarios into one of seven formats, from the 926 x 62 banner to the 160 x 600 skyscraper, then a skin (fax, craigslist, reply, midnight), a motion class, stackable effects (mirror, gaussian shadow, sparkle, glitter) and copy rolled per format. Headlines are measured in the DOM after placement, so the stroke cannot lie about the box: short formats keep short lines, large formats grow to 1.8x and wrap, long lines shrink to the largest fit. Every element stays editable after the build. Export is a 2x GIF written in the page by its own GIF89a encoder, web-safe palette and LZW, blink and motion baked in, or the full grid at once. It serves any brief where volume comes first and selection second: satirical editorial, exhibition props, real campaign variants.
